How do I set up a MyAlpha account?

access, password, sign in, log in, login, register, course, delete account

Updated over a month ago

If you're thinking about running an Alpha in Canada or you're part of an Alpha team, the first step is to create a MyAlpha account. Each person can create their own account with their own email and password.

Creating a MyAlpha account is different from registering an Alpha course but both are simple and completely free!

Log in using your gmail (click on "Google") or click on the "Sign up here" link (see image below). Answer a few questions and you now have a MyAlpha account!

To delete your MyAlpha account, please email us at support@alphacanada.org. We will close the account for you.

2 - To change your password, update your notifications, church info, etc.

Please click on "My Account Settings" in the top right corner. Make any adjustments necessary.

3 - Browse through the Alpha videos to see the format and content.

In the "Preview Resources" section, you can go through the Alpha Film Series for adults and the Alpha Youth Series for teens. You can watch clips of any episode and/or watch them all the way through. Each video on the preview page is watermarked.

If you'd like to run an Alpha and you're the Course Administrator, please click on "Register using this series" to register your course, and then you'll have access to download the videos with no watermark.

4 - Watch the short video clips in the Learning Centre for top tips!

The Alpha Learning Centre contains short best practice videos and articles that will equip you to run an Alpha in your context effectively. We recommend starting with the 7 Best Practices module. (This is separate from the 2 Team Training videos.)

5 - If you're the primary Course Administrator, please register your Alpha.

When you're ready to run Alpha, please click on the red "Register" button and fill out the course information. The person who registers the Alpha course is called the Administrator. There can only be one Administrator and everyone else can be added as a Helper or Host.

Note: Only the Course Administrator can edit the Alpha course dates and add hosts & helpers in the "Team" section. Team members can see the Schedule but cannot adjust any dates, and they cannot see the "Team" section.

What's included after you register an Alpha course?

  • Promotional materials (guest invitations, posters, banners, etc)

  • All the Alpha videos to download and save to your computer

  • 2 team training videos (Small Groups + Prayer and the Alpha Weekend

  • Team Guide with small group discussion questions for each week

  • Guest Guide with video outline for each week

  • Sample schedules and checklists to help you plan and prepare

  • Info sheets for hosts and helpers

  • And more!

If you're a host or helper ...

When your Alpha leader adds you to "Team" section of your current Alpha, you'll receive an email with a link to log in. Please click on the link in the email and create a MyAlpha account using your own email address and your own password.

Then you'll be able to watch the 2 team training videos, browse through each weekly Alpha video ahead of time, review the small group discussion questions, read through the info sheets, and more. (More info here.)

If you have any questions, please use the chatbox in the bottom right-hand corner of our website or email us at support@alphacanada.org. We'd be happy to help you out!

* If you're living outside Canada, please visit alpha.org/global to find your country's Alpha website. It's best to register each Alpha course on the website that serves your country so that you can get the most up-to-date resources and local support to run a great Alpha! All the resources are free online and the videos are downloadable.
